Timi Frank, Omisore Lauds Mrs Buhari For Speaking The Truth



The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the governing All Progressives Congress, Mr. Timi Frank, and the Special Assistant to the Senate President on New Media has commended Nigeria First Lady, Mrs Aishat Buhari for speaking the minds must party members.

Mrs. Aishat Buhari was last Friday granted an interview with BBC Hausa where she spoke about cabal hijacking the presidency, especially those that played no role during the 2015 presidential election. She also added that she might not support her husband if he decided to re- contest comes 2019.

The Deputy Publicity Secretary of All Progressive Congress, Mr. Timi Frank, in his reaction said that the first lady's comments were reflection of feelings among party members and loyalists.

Mr. Frank, who expressed his opinion in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja , on Friday, said: " Mrs Buhari had expressed her concern over the treatment meted on party members by those she said didn’t play any role in the coming of her husband to became the president.


"I think Mrs. Buhari deserves commendation because she is actually speaking the minds of not only the party members, but Nigerians. And I also think that other wives of president in the world and generally women in politics have a lot to learn from what Mr buhari has done". Frank said.

The APC spokesman then urged the President to act fast and correct some of the issues currently threatening the existence of the party.

 In a different reaction, The Special Assistant to the Senate President on New Media, Mr. Bamikole Omisore, on Friday also lauds the first kady that what Mrs. Aisha Buhari said in her interview with the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation had justified his boss, Senator Bukola Saraki’s earlier position on President Muhammadu Buhari four months ago.

And also correct the erroneous and misleading attribution of his personal opinion freely expressed on his twitter page.

Omisore, in a statement from the Office of the Senate President on Friday, said, “My attention has been drawn to the erroneous and misleading attribution of my personal opinion freely expressed on Mrs. Aisha Buhari’s interview with the BBC Hausa Service, to my principal and President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

He said: “To set the record straight, I, as a Nigerian, am entitled to air my opinion on issues in the polity irrespective of my position as media aide to the Senate President. Please note that my opinion neither represents the official position of the Senate President, Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki, nor my office as a media aide.

 "what I said via my personal twitter handle was that the First Lady’s opinion tallies with the view my principal expressed four months ago. That is my opinion and I stand by" Omisore said.
