Osun Government Commiserate With HIs Oyo State Counterpart On The Horrendous Ritual Killing At Soka Village

Poverty, unemployment, get rich quick syndrome and security lapse have been identified as the major causes of untold nefarious activities being perpetrated by people in the country.

This observation was made in Ibadan by the Special Adviser to the Governor of the State of Osun on Youth, Sports and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade, when he led a team of officials of the Department of Special Needs of the Ministry on solidarity visit to Oyo State Government on the atrocities committed by yet-to-be identified ritualists at Soka village on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Comrade Biyi Odunlade said that, the visit was to sympathize and show solidarity with the Oyo State Government on the evil act and to identify citizens of the State of Osun who were among the rescued victims, with a view to bringing them to the state for rehabilitation as directed by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

He added that, the 'O' Rehab programme of the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was created for the administration of destitute and vulnerable such as the one that happened at Soka.

The Special Adviser opined that, to curb all these acts of wickedness, government at various levels should address the issue of poverty, unemployment, negative ethical issues and a total overhaul of the security system. He added that, Governor Aregbesola will visit his Oyo counterpart to sympathize with him.

Responding, the Oyo State Special Adviser on Youth, Mr. Godwin Obodo thanked Ogbeni Aregbesola for his concern and promised that, the Oyo State Government will assist in the relocation of the two victims who are indigenes of Osun State to enable the government to rehabilitate them, once security operatives gives the go-ahead to do so.

Two citizens of the State, Mr. Adewale Adetoyebi from Ada, and one Miss Funmilayo Olarewaju who said she is from Bada compound in Ode-Omu, Ayedaade local Government Area of the State of Osun, were among the victims rescued and are being treated by the Oyo State Government, at Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, Ibadan.
