They have won the Africa Cup of Nations a total of 3 times, and have reached the FIFA World Cup round of 16 twice. They have qualified for five of the last six World Cups, with their first appearance coming in the United States in 1994.

IVORY COST
The Ivory Coast national football team nicknamed Les Éléphants (The Elephants), represents Ivory Coast in international football and is controlled by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF). Until 2005, their greatest accomplishment was winning the 1992 African Cup of Nations against Ghana on penalties at the Stade Leopold Senghor in Dakar, Senega.

They have qualified for three consecutive World Cups, first in Germany in 2006, losing to Argentina and the Netherlands and beating Serbia and Montenegro as they failed to progress beyond the group stage. They qualified again for South Africa in 2010 and did not get through the group stage again. Presently, Ivory cost is the number one Africa in Fifa ranking.

GHANA
The Ghana national football team popularly known as the Black Stars has represented Ghana in association football since the 1950's. Black Stars is administered by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the governing body for football in Ghana and the oldest football association in geographic Africa (founded in 1920). Prior to 1957, the team played as the Gold Coast.

Although the team did not qualify for the senior FIFA World Cup  until 2006, they had qualified for five straight Olympic Games Football Tournaments when the tournament was still a full senior national team competition. The team has won the Africa Cup of Nations four times (in 1963, 1965, 1978, and 1982) and has been runners up 4 times (in 1968, 1970, 1992, and 2010). In 1992, the Ghana Olympic football team became the first African football team to win a medal at the Olympics finishing third.

After going through 2005 unbeaten, Ghana national football team won the FIFA most improved team of the year award and they reached the second round of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

At the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, they became the third African team in history to reach the World Cup quarter-finals. Black Stars is on aggregate one of the top 10 teams in the world at the last two FIFA World Cup's (2006 and 2010), a feat not achieved by a team outside of Europe and South America over a similar length of time historically.

Black Stars in 2013 became the only African side to qualify for at least the semi-final of the CAF African Cup four times in a row twice; this occurred between 1963 and 1970 and between 2008 and 2013.

As we approach 2014 for the world cup, Nigerians urge the Super Eagle of Nigeria to take the top lead among the african countries through proper preparation and commitment so that Africa can be proud of them just like what happened with the just concluded under 17 world cup in the United Arab Emirate.

The Questions Of Insecurity In Nigeria

Insecurity in Nigeria has posed a national questions in which up till this moment no formidable answer has been provided. If Britain had failed to proffer solution to insecurity challenges in the country before independence and Nigeria rulers failed to do this after almost 53 years of independence (1960-2013), something is definitely wrong with the approach so far.
